Wichita Falls has a diverse offering of cultural, sporting, and educational activities.  Its community spirit can be found in a multitude of charitable events and volunteer enterprises.

Regard for both the historical pioneer effort and futuristic ideas of its forefathers is evidenced in the Landmark Designation bronze markers on a host of properties throughout the city.  Wichita Falls celebrates the vision and determination it took to build this city and boldly labors to further advance the city's reputation and expansion as it approaches the next century.

The community of Wichita Falls sits in the northernmost part of Texas, (most commonly known as "Tornado Alley") with Oklahoma City and Dallas merely a two hour drive away.   The City of more than 100,000 people borders the townships of several smaller communities, which add another 17,000 people to the area.   It also acts as the Gateway to Texas from the North and serves the Great State of Texas with an official Visitor's Center which assists more than 200,000 visitors each year.

Wichita Falls offers its citizens and visitors a unique blend of culture and western heritage.   The City enjoys multi-cultural influences from around the world and is home to the "Hotter'n Hell Hundred", Summer Camp to the Dallas Cowboys, and an impressive roster of Fortune 500 companies and foreign manufacturers from Sweden, France, and Switzerland.   A strong economy can be attributed primarily to growth in the three major sectors of Government, Manufacturing and Healthcare.

The City boasts 18 pre-schools and kindergartens, 12 private or parochial schools, and 29 public schools.  For continuing education, the City has an American Commercial College, two  Vernon Regional Junior College campuses, the 170 acre Midwestern State University, which offers 75 degree programs and Wayland Baptist University, which offers Associates, Bachelor and Master Degrees for those wanting to pursue classes in a non-traditional setting.
